Cost: Free. · Time: 10–20 minutes.
Steps
1. Create a Page if you have none
On Facebook choose Pages → Create Page → Public Page, enter the name and category and click Create Page. Meta currently shows two slightly different flows; the button names above are the same in both.
2. Add the Page to your portfolio
In Meta Business Suite: Settings → Accounts → Pages → + Add → Add an existing Facebook Page. Enter the name or URL, agree and click Add Page.
3. Make Instagram a professional account
Only a professional (business or creator) account can be linked. If yours is personal, Instagram offers to switch it during linking.
4. Link Instagram to the Page
In the Instagram app: profile → Edit profile → Page → Connect or create → log in to Facebook → choose the Page and tap Connect.
5. Add Instagram to the portfolio
In Meta Business Suite: Settings → Accounts → Instagram accounts → Add → Add Instagram account, log in and confirm. Now ads can run on Instagram too.
Watch out
- The Page and Instagram must be in the same portfolio, and you need full control of the Page.
- Once linked, anyone with access to one can manage both.
